  1. I love hearing your reflections on plants, but my favourite part of your blog entries is hearing your memories and stories. “Sad wet party dress”?? Well that’s just…poetry!!! Beautiful.

    1. Thanks so much, Wendy! That’s just what my poor beautiful irises look like when the inevitable rain hits just as they are in their glory.

    1. Thanks Sheila! I was thinking that very thing while I was writing the post. Pat also mentioned it so I put a couple of feelers out to see what I can find. Not sure if Loreley is a couple of years too young for the Stewart Farm.

  5. I love your Loreley and it’s special story. Like your neighbor’s garden grows on….thru you.
I have recently loss a dear four legged family member, Our dear Spencer, a yellow lab. To honor him I’ve started a yellow garden and will hunt for a Loreley to add to his growing garden. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Hello Teresa! Thanks so much for your comment. I wish I lived near you (I live in British Columbia), I’d be so happy to give you some Loreley tubers as I have to divide my patch this summer. What I loved so much about your comment is that I adore labs, and we used to have a beautiful chocolate lab. So I totally get your connection with your lovely pup. I love that you’re starting a yellow garden in his honour! My husband passed last fall, which is why I haven’t posted since this site went live a week before he went in the hospital. This year I’m working on my garden with him in mind, planting his favourite things and making it extra beautiful. I’ve been thinking hard about whether to continue with the blog, and I’m taking your comment as a message for me to keep going with it. Thank you!
